Composer's note: A Nature Walk in California was inspired by the beautiful nature I see and hear everyday as a resident of California. This piece was selected as a winner of the 2023 California Festival Composers' Competition.

Composer's note: Mélodie for solo piano I wrote this piece for my boyfriend, who is a pianist. It features various lyrical melodies, all of which convey the contrasting emotions I felt while writing the piece.

Composer's note: Canzonetta di Mezzanotte is a piece I completed in early May of 2023. The title of the work translates to “Midnight Song.” It’s a dark piece influenced by late night feelings of solitude and despair. I initially wrote it for cello. However, due to last minute circumstances, I transcribed it for clarinet so I could perform it at the 2023 University of the Pacific Composers' Concert.

Composer's note: Trio for violin, clarinet and piano is a piece I wrote to cope with traumatic life events from 2022 and part of 2023. I first attempted to write the opening melody of the first movement in 2019 for piano. However, due to a lack of music theory knowledge, I was unable to write it down properly. Eventually, in 2022, the melody came back to me once again. With my vast knowledge in music theory, I finally wrote down the opening. In 2023, I decided to alter the instrumentation to violin, clarinet and piano, as I love various pieces written for this instrumentation.

Composer's note: Reed Trio in f minor is a piece heavily influenced by the struggles I faced in 2022. Initially, it began as a woodwind quintet piece; however, I later found that a smaller instrumentation best fit the contrapuntal nature of the work. It's quite lyrical, featuring various melodies I came up with during this difficult time period of my life.

Composer's note: Four pieces for Woodwind Quintet is a programmatic piece influenced by the intense emotions that come with losing a friend. It features many distinct melodic lines and duets, all of which convey these complex emotions.
